Hello fellow Nodiatans!

Just starting a thread to see how much interest there is out there for having a Nodiatis convention in 2011 held in the Calgary, Alberta area. Proposed event would be 1 day in length: dinner/dancing(DJ'd by yours truly)/cosplay/games hosted in a banquet hall with group rates for your hotel stay.

In order to even consider taking on planning an event of this cost and magnitude we need to see how many players would SERIOUSLY want to partake in said Nod Con. Who knows, if enough interest is generated, we might even be able to meet the Glichless team irl!(provided they didn't fear for their lives).

I'm thinking tickets would end up costing $50.00 - $150.00 CAD{to cover banquet/food costs} + travel + hotel{group rates for about 98$CAD per night per room}

If you would seriously purchase a ticket to Nod Con please post in this thread.

I think the travel costs would kill this idea, personally. It'd take a LOT of arranging. And RPBNS would probably die irl. You'd have to have some hardcore security.

@ raperoo: There are planty of players on this contenent that are able to drive. I'm sure we can generate enopugh interest to do this.

@my fellow players: take this seriously or don't post in here. There are plenty of zombie threads for you to revive and flame on forums.

I'd -like- to but financially speaking probably wouldn't happen. Cause on top of ticket/hotel cost and travel cost there's the 100$ passport I'd also have to pick up..

$300 for a passport here, plus another 3500 for the ticket to get there.

I would go but I'm not old enough to travel alone, nor am I able to afford it or take time off from school.

the general response im getting is that canada is too expensive for all the us players, and there seems to be interest, iss there a location that is central in the us to players that would work? i think it would be freakin awesome to do this so im willing to look at all angles.

any input from you guys is appreciated.

@ Roo--as for organizing, I've organized far bigger conventions for a living. That isn't a worry. I'll do it.

If there is interest, we can decide a location, etc.

Another option being we could do one in the originally planned location, rotate to another next time?

Well $@#! i can drive that. It sounds awesome cuz i can get some primo stuff up there and maybe even make a little bit of money. I <3 Canada. Sadly I have a life and would need a baby sitter for my son. Besides, I dont want to hang out with the civils. I'd be doing shots while they gave me a bible to roll joints out of and to burn. All my heroin will be confiscated along with any paraphanelia. Ferrec will end up preggo, Mel too, Dumpy will have a pain in his ass, and i will have had an erection for over 12 hours. OH Mel, i dont think you need a passport to get to canada, just your greencard. ; )
I don't do well at formal affairs. Unless you had a room with 200 computers. that would be pimp. I CAN EVEN DRESS UP IN MY BEER ARMOR LIKE THOSE GUYS THAT DRESS UP LIKE SPIDERMAN AT THE COMIC CONVENTIONS!

Or we can just find an open bar and have our own little convention. &#*@ formalities. Let's just get trashed and race some hookers.

you just need a birth certificate to get into canada or mexico from the US

i think somewhere in the mid US would be a good place to have the first nod con (since a lot of ppl who play live in the US) but then maybe next year in canada then back to the US

this will leave out the people who play in europe and such but it would be kinda hard to find a middle ground there
