I would say casters are a bit inferior in the begining due to the fact that there gem pouch is worth speaking of for combat use till around lvl 20 since there they will be able to both have plenty of heals and damage spells so that they balance out a lot against some of the pure damage classes

Why not have a pure damage dealing caster, and group with a pure healer?

well that might work also but the way i see it for being a succesfull caster while soloing you would need to balance healing and damage gems out or else it might get hard to survive later on when creatures start to get really tough in the game

But even now, there are a bunch of people on that you could group up with for different zones/goals.
I would not recommend grouping with yourself if you are going caster, it gets hard real quick to manage a bunch of gems while window switching.

well i think it would be near impossible to control 3 casters by 1 person that where grouping together probably wouldnt be that hard for melee chars or for archers but definetly for casters it would be very hard

Yeppers, one caster, an archer, and a melee is a good combo...best of three worlds further into the game...gotta diversify.

This was just plain crazy, but it sure got the heart pumping.....
Here's a solo +8 win against the Skelesaur. It took 4 tries and I only got killed once, but it was worth it. I don't know how long it took, but I'm guessing 30-40 minutes.
And now 45 minutes later my heart has almost gone bacl to normal.....that was one hell of a rush....
I have a starting pic of one of the failed attemps, but this is the first pic of the win.
Near the end.
The finish.
The gems ---

Damn, well done Gurnison!
You have a lot of your skills up past your character level I assume?

No, I have very few skills over my character level. My highest were melee and slashing at 30. I was using a level 29 butterfly knife. Two primary stats were at 29 and the rest were below my character level.
I didn't count, but I bet I didn't hit him more than 1 out of 10-20 times with low damage (guessing at 10-25 damage max).
It's all about having enough hit points and armor to survive long enough to get the gems flowing and for the mob to run out of energy and mana. After that it's all about concentration, luck with the gems, and making no mistakes for 30-40 minutes straight.
I ran completely out of energy and mana twice in that fight. In combat recovery was high enough I could wait for 15 points to use the lower level energy or mana replenish. After the first time I ran out I managed to get both energy and mana up to around 60-70%. Again, this relied on hit points and armor to survive long enough, as I had no heals going during this time (except one chipmonk).
