Default Processor Hog

I doubt it is just me, but has anyone else noticed that Nodiatis uses a TON of CPU time? I didn't notice this until I tried to play on my MacBook. It causes it to run very hot and if I look at the CPU Monitor its almost pegged. The same goes for my XP desktop. I use Safari on my Mac and Firefox on my XP machine and they both just chew up CPU time.

Any thoughts?

The game only uses high CPU %'s when you actually have your mouse over the window to achieve maximum framerate. If you move your mouse off you should see the CPU usage drop dramatically.

I see you are correct. I noticed this first on my desktop since I run a Distributed Computing client (Standford's Folding@Home) and I wasn't making progress on the file while playing Nodiatis.

Still, I am surprised it uses so much CPU time. (Not being a computer expert, but still knowing more than the average user.) Is Java just a heavy CPU user?

Applets rely on the CPU to do a lot of the graphics computations that would otherwise be done by a graphics card for 3D games.

I see, now it makes sense. I was wondering why I can play Halo and not use much CPU power, but this 'little' game requires so much. Thanks for the reply. Love the game.
