Russian Roulette is also very thrilling.
There are people who like and strive on the adrenaline rush. The problem is that one of those 6 chambers has a bullet in it.
Anyways, the point that I was trying to make was that for the average person who plays Nodiatis, permadeath is too steep of a cost and hence they will never attempt to player kill. If player killing is to be encouraged on a more widespread basis especially at higher levels, then permadeath has to be done away with.
People don't player kill for the sake of player killing because the rewards are too measly and the costs are too great.
You can take one stack of items (most don't take anything but epics and recalls/gates because of the encumbarance limit) and you can't take any gold either.
And for that one stack of items and a momentary adrenaline rush, you risk losing everything that you have worked for on your toon. (Simply not worth it).
Offcourse, there is the 3 X experience gain, but that still does not make up for the chance of permadeath --- nothing really makes up for permadeath.
Take the Russian Roulette example again: lets say you get 100,000 dollars every time you squeeze the trigger and stay in one piece. Is it worth it ? I suppose the answer depends on what kind of person you are but for the average person it is not.
That is what I was trying to say. Remove permadeath and I might try out player killing, even if it meant 1/2 rt for the next week or something (just an idea).
