Enchanting Stone Levels
if you make a +4/-4 stone, and try and put it on a lvl 11 armor, it wont let you. saying that it is to strong.
do you think there is anyway that the stones could say the minimum required lvl of armor or weap on them?
would really be helpful. its sorta a pain if you get a stone you need, and you try and put it on, but you cant.
just an idea. would like imput on that though.

I have not encounter that problem before. I was under the impression that all stone are customizable with all armors. Also, there should also be a warning that if you enchant a piece of equipment which is already been enchanted, the earlier enchantment would be deleted(?).
Back on topic, I agree with Nicole that there should be some sort of minimum level info.

there is a requirement. ever try enchaning a +4/-4 onto a lvl 11 armor? says something along the lines of "this enchantment is to strong for this item" (or something similar to that) both Ehlmaris and i had that problem. i highly doubt it is a bug. just means what it says.

If you are shifting X amount of stats the item must already have at least X/2 stats on it.

Sorry to drag down the int level but I don't understand the explanation. Can someone give me an example? Perhaps one for what would work and one for what wouldn't?
Also, why do you get the option to dismantle an enchanted stone when you aren't allowed to actually do it?

Thanks, Style. No doubt, Jeff gave the simplest mathmatical explanation but, I'm retarded and require Barney breakdowns with pictures of crayon. I tried to substitute the X but crayons don't get sharp enough to make a clean point.
My only silver lining is the hope that there's someone else reading the forum that thinks like me and benefits from the further explanations that I require. I truely appreciate your help.

Absolutely no offense taken! I may have to argue with you about who's explanation was simpler though. While I'm sure Jeff could have cited an example just as you did, your post didn't require any translation. (my weak spot) Hmmm, and in saying that, I realize that I missed something important...
Thank you Jeff! That information is very valueable and much appreciated!
