Default Current and Eventual Stat Cap

umm... so the current stat cap is 140.... which means that anyone who needs 2 stats for their build wants to go 140 in each and wants the 140 number to go up next level cap raise. Of course, anyone who needs 3 stats (aka Me) is at a clear disadvantage because he cannot - even if the stat cap stayed 140 and the level cap raised to 100 - ever get all three maxed out..... Why is this good?

I'm sure all the melee'rs will go "but I dun wanna put stats into Recov" or some such if the stat cap raises. But every Archer feels screwed over already by the 140.... if I don't get 140 def then I have an hp handicap... if I go anywhere near 140 Def, then I either never reach damage max (Magic for me) or have such low Melee (Dex) that I can't hit black mobs more than once every six shots..... anyone know of a stat balance for a 3 stat build that can match a 140-in-each 2 stat build? And won't this get worse if the cap raises again?

it would be the same if stat cap were 150.. every1 who uses only 2 stats will be able to cap and u wont..

I have a dual-build Paladin: DW Crush / DoT Caster. My stats are currently 110/100/90/20. I have learned to deal with the fact that my stats in any one single area will not be as high as someone who concentrates on two skills.

lol: i focus on a lot of stats as one of these: ranger/dot/dd/healer/piercer

basically i need to focus on: int, cnc, dur, pst, mst and dex, i will not get 400 in some or even most of them, since i have alot to focus on, but oh well.

Give me one good reason Why Jeff tells me i cant level Melee to 317 and have the rest at level one? Stat Caps are stupid. If we are gonna have caps on melee magic and so on why not have a STR, INT, and DUR cap too?

Let's make everyone have the same build too and make everyone only use Iron Gaffs and instead of clicking attack we just sit there and eat granola and not even use pets.

Melee users should be the ones complaining cause they are the ones who are "wasting" Stat points on recovery when other classes are bettering themselves.

Unlimited Stat cap would make builds very very very unique. And if it is possible i will definatly have lower Defense than Archers/Casters.

That's a typical stupid thing to say.... I never suggested anything of the sort. I'm all for unique builds. Just because something doesn't help YOU doesn't make it a bad idea. Idk why you seem to have missed that lately....


But what you are saying about why is their a stat cap in the first place is part of my point. If there is a stat cap, why a cap that only allows some to max and other not... isn't this essentially a handicap on certain builds only? As far as I can see.... things should either be unlimited and entirely up to you how to distribute/balance your stats or capped at a point where one build doesn't have a built-in stat advantage and making the difference all about skills. But what good is a cap that creates a ceiling that is inhibiting but only certain people are inhibited by it..... wtf it the point of that, besides taunting the people who can't reach the ceiling?

No thats a stupid thing to say.

If you count all my chars you will know i have 3 Melee 2 Archers and 1 Caster. So how doesnt it help/hurt me?

Archers and Casters still easily hit 140 in Magic atleast my Archers and Caster will hit 139 magic too lazy for that last lvl.

Also increasing the Stat level cap with not hurt anyone and it will help everyone. We are a team. There is a reason we fight together versus mobs and bosses.

Right now i see the cap saying to me no Paster you are too strong go level so other skill that wont help your char grow into a better player.
