Purefear: Just the Facts

1. There was a deal planned: Purefear was to receive one (1) Time Card in exchange for a number of trophies with an experience value equal to approximately eight hundred thousand (800,000)

2. Purefear received the Time Card.

3. The other party, thepirate, did not receive the trophies, as Purefear was unable to reach the location at which the trophies were stored.

4. Purefear did not know that he could trade items directly from storage without being in the same location as the items.

5. Purefear was allegedly intent on going to the location of the items to trade, but had to leave for an unknown, unforeseen purpose.

6. The trade itself, by current market rates, was unfair: One Time Card is worth approximately 130,000 gold. 1,000 experience is worth 30 gold. The trophies were worth a grand total of an estimated 24,000 gold.

7. thepirate could have sold the Time Card for gold and easily acquired five times as much experience by purchasing Time Cards.

8. Purefear should have thought ahead and been at the location of the trophies so the trade could be made smoothly, but was not.

9. Purefear should have been aware of the capabilities of trading, but was not.

10. Ignorance is no excuse.

11. The continued spamming of these forums is angering many of the forum users.

12. The cause of this frustration is purefear, whose actions - whether he was right or wrong - screwed another player out of a lot.

13. By angering and frustrating players beyond his in-game actions he is harassing those players, whether it be intentional or not, through the continued spamming of the forums.

14. Purefear deserves more than to be banned from Nodiatis.

This has become more of a problem than the forum's Ignore feature should have to handle. I am, however, going to ignore him anyway and would appreciate it if the rest of the forum users would do the same to prevent any of us from seeing his posts, thus preventing any of us from replying to them. Maybe he'll get the picture and move on with his life. It would do him some good.

the frustration wouldnt be here if the people monitoring the forums put an end to this...any other forums ive been on have people that handle this sort of thing quickly and with little hassle

this going on as long as it has just amazes me, and lowers my faith and expectations of the game

Who appointed you judge in this matter?

We'd all just be better off not getting involved in this, as what happened is pure speculation or one sides story based on credility verified by reputation/'friendship'.

No he hasn't. However, regardless of the circumstances of the initial cause of this - the alleged scam - Purefear has gone above and beyond in attempting to draw attention to his side. By that I mean he's gone over the edge and has crossed the line. It's become spam, IMO. Nikita has posted a reply in one of his threads. Several have been closed. Obviously he has the attention of Glitchless.

Obviously Glitchless isn't changing its mind.

Honestly, if I were in a moderator position in game, I would have banned him too. The entire situation was just too sketchy. There were too many ways for Pure to have not scammed. The deal was too good for Pure, given current economic rates. I also would've forum banned him already, or at least made a statement that he's got the attention of Glitchless, but he isn't going to change the minds of anyone important.

it wasnt thepirate who i traded with thepirate was the one who gave me the trophies dont remember the exact name of who i was trading with but i know an alt of his technoviking. and the unforseen reason was my mom forced me off the computer so she could check her email or whatever she did. and its not 30 gold per 1k exp its 33.3 gold per 1k exp so the total was 26640 gold and the reason he agreed to the trade is because he was being genourous

Fair business based on inflated prices caused by greedy people interested in getting as much money as possible?

I have spoken to Thepirate who verified purefear's story. He had sent an email to Glitchless but there was no reply. He insists that purefear was innocent of this accusation.

Dear Jeff's team, Mike and Nikita,
I am not asking your team to un-ban anybody. However, I do believe that since banning is a very severe punishment, you need investigate thoroughly and properly, and speak to all parties involved before executing your judgment,

As far as I know, you have not replied Thepirate's email, nor spoken to him. You only spoke to purefear AFTER banning him (from what i summarised - so correct me if i am wrong). Hearing only one side of the story and then executing punishment is unfair. I am not going to say if purefear is guilty or innocent - however i think every man should at least get a chance to defend himself from accusations BEFORE he is punished, not after.

Now that you have already made the decision, I would think that it will be hard to revoke it without incurring a tremendous loss of respect - Thus i doubt that your decision will be changed.

This may be a misunderstandings that can be easily cleared up, and got blown out of proportion - which is simply a result of negligence. I do not deny that the injured party (the one who gave the tc out) has his/her rights as well. However, they should at least listen to what the other party has to say, and not be too hasty in their judgment.

If, at the end of discussion, you still felt that purefear deserved a ban, then I will not have questioned that decision. However, if decisions were made prior to investigation and discussion with all parties involved including their witnesses, then is there any wonder that we will question the process that you followed before coming to your decision?

Nevertheless, he is a separate issue from what I am trying to bring up.

I dislike any notion that someone can be denied basic human rights - the right to defend himself and his honor from accusations. The fact that this someone is verbally and socially retarded is an unfortunate circumstance.

...and the "Dear Jeff's team, Mike and Nikita" post become rather meaningless, since Thepirate was not involved in the TC trade, and has nothing to do with circumstances of the ban.

Did you check to see if Thepirate knew nothing of the situation? Did glitchless speak to purefear to ensure that it wasn't a real life situation that forced him into being uncontactable for a few hours? Were you 100% certain that was never going to repay anything to the person he was trading with?

Again, facts before punishment. I am not saying who is right or wrong. i do not care for that.

I am concerned over the process involved. I would not like it if someone accused me of scamming a tc, and my account got banned because that person is more liked than me, before I even got to answer to my accuser.

I am sure you would feel the same way too.
