Default v1.171 New Beast Mastery Skills

great buff for beastmasters, however

Two new Beast Mastery Skills:
Fire and Ice - Every point in this skill gives pets a 1% chance of both attacking and healing for those using a whip on the same side as the pet. At maximum skill your pet will always attack and heal regardless of the type of pet it is.

Stalking - Every point in this skill will increase pet damage, healing, and intimidation stun duration by 1.0% but slow the rate of attacks and heals by 0.4% for whip users and 0.5% for others.


Is this only when auto attacking? Else its a huge buff for bow users as well.

The patch was awesome until he DESTROYED archers. Good job, Jeff. You just made my awesome archer a horrid turd that can't even solo black mobs any more. YAY!!!!

Great so is not only a buff for Beast Masters, Archers now will have 25% penalty for using whips, i dont like that, take out the buff from the Beast masters! because of them now i raise all my skills of beastmastery for nothiiiing!

People currently playing Archer/Beastmaster hybrids (ie using Bows and whips) will notice their characters are immediately weaker, but they are not taking into consideration the gains they will get when leveling these two new Beast Mastery skills which are extremely powerful. If you don't think it is worth it you can always switch from whips to normal weapons.

I agree. 25% would be sufficient and understandable. 15% was a little overpowered, but 50% delay?

Look! I can deal 150 damage every 6 minutes in a battle!!

50% is ridiculous! People have spent a lot of time and money on these builds and now you destroy them

Technically it's only a 43.75% delay due to the way they stack. Glass half full =)

Jeff, can you explain how the interaction of a 50% slow in archery balances with level 70 fire and ice and stalking...I am not good with math and any of those calculations, but I will take your word for it if you can show it to me...

The fact remains that you (once again) make a certain build worthless ... Archers that have leveled all BM skills with whips based on the data available are screwed.

It will be me again that's the whiner, but it's simple math though. Using 2 whips gives less dps then using no pets LOL

Making the new skills auto-attacking only seems to be the only thing to do that is common sense, and it would make this an awesome update.

Ok, well im a OG *beastmaster* so hear me out. The Tameing skill has now ben changed to what my Class Bonus is !! OMG !! I no longer feel unique and i miss my pet haste now *cry. The 2 new skills are cool, i like them but they are nothing to make the beastmaster class stand out as they are have no perk to be gained from actually being a beastmaster. This means that all the other classes are further more a beastmaster then i am. What I ask is jeff Please concider makeing the Beastmaster Class Bonus effect all beastmaster skills. This would make the class more unique,give us a usefull class bonus and keep us as a actual class and not just a sub class that anyone can be. TY

The addition of the two new skills should make up for the extra range delay for hybrid Archer/Beastmasters. If over time it is proven that they are weaker than both pure archers and pure beastmasters then they will be buffed accordingly.

The thing you seem to forget is that a level 30 archer with 2 whips and maxed beastmaster skills will have to wait till level 40 and 60 before the new skills unlock ... not to mention the time it takes to level them. Thus making his spent time/effort/gold/$ useless as he has no alternative.

If that's considered normal i'll just shut up.

i have been trying it. as a ranger, with basically the highest haste and highest level bow and arrow you can have, its freaking slow. I can only imagine how bad it would be as an archer with a slow bow.

Thats what i am saying, but its all good , sometimes you have to lose i guess. I am way to lazy to reroll.. so its just a game and i enjoy it but i do have to say that i have wasted lots of Combats and Spirits for nothing.
