A staff is considered a 2H crushing weapon. So that can parry as well.

thanks, but what about the 3%-9% increase? Seems awfully meager to me.

it will take quite some time before you even reach a 5% increased chance, but yeah its a lot. for instance epic sleeves give 1 or 2% chance to hit ... it means a lot when you fight.
about parry ... if you can parry 1 out of 10 attacks just by your class bonus, than it will save you lots of trouble ... (less damage you take, less regen time needed, less xp needed for healing gems, ...). so yeah it's definitely an interesting build.
however I think using a 2H weapon is quite a waste as there is a 'dual parry' skill that unlocks at level 20 which reads as: 'per point in this skill you have a 0.2% extra chance of parrying melee attacks while dual wielding' ... so quite an important skill for a tactician
for me the ideal build for a tactician is a dualwielding piercer, as they typically have a high dex. even slashing will do.

I was actually thinking Tactician caster. Parrying with the staff that give so many bonuses to gem use. For duel wield piercer I was originally using Alcoholic, but then I discovered the fun of gems.

well imo its a waste as you won't be able to use the dual parry
if i had to restart a mage (staff) i'd go for the adventurer: bonus to xp gains and no punish for defense or melee (for an angel its a pain to level up def/melee, and you need both, whereas recovery is totally useless)

About adventurist class.. its a waste since u dont have any real bonus %.. once u got over ur penalties in stats, lets say even -20%, ure done.. even if it takes 1 month longer than it would take Adventurer to lvl, in a long run its total waste.. so better go for some DD or DOT +% class if u want caster, depends what u wanna use.

well thats a personal opinion, i would prefer an xp gain and not having to go through 2 -17% stats like i did with ugolin, for sure to max them out its frustrating and a pain. the bonus aint that important for me

I never saw time as an issue though. I don't get much time to play the game beyond my rested time each day. I was more worried on whether it was better to do more damage or living longer to get a key gem.

Maximus, you'd be suprised ( i definitely was!!!) but there are only 2 tacticians in game above lvl 30! One is lvl 36 and one is lvl 32.
You have all the chances of being the first to top and telling us all about it ^_^v

I had thought it was strange since I couldn't find any posts with Tactician in it before I posted mine. This is something to consider with much thought.

Try a druid, green magic has heals, DoTs and DDs, plus druids aren't as penalized on melee and defense stat gains as most of the other caster classes (though in that regard a Vampire or a Paladin will do fine as well). I agree that a Tactician is quite wasted on staves.
