Bring Jarel Back to Civil Petition

As some of you know, Jarel was perma-banned from Civil chat today, 4/9/09.

Jarel has been a great friend and help to many players. He is also, generally, one of the most well behaved players in Civil chat.

Please reply with your user name if you wish to sign the petition to bring Jarel back to Civil chat and give a good guy a second chance.

I will sign i have only ever heard jarel telling others off for being uncivil..give the guy a chance

jarel gets caught up in a few borderline conversations now and again, but usually keeps it clean. to be honest hes one of the friendlier, less anoying ones out there but i guess its all a matter of opinion.

i think a second chance would be fair.

I have seen jarel be one of the most helpful chatters on the civil channel. I have never seen him use inappropriate language while chatting, in fact, I have seen him warn other players to remain civil or leave. While I wasn't present during the aforementioned issue, I can hardly imagine Jarel was all that offensive. I give my vote for bringing Jarel back from perma-ban

You make a mistake you should deal with it!

Unbanning Jarel would be unfair to ALL the people that are currently banned from civil.

Unbann them all or none at all! NO DOUBLE STANDARDS FTW!!!

Niara signing--he's been v. kind and helpful to me, and obviously to others. Was a good person to get to know at the beginning.

Jeff--you know that I am a stauch supporter of rules for civil, and banning those who refuse to follow.

But Jarel truly doesn't deserve a perma ban. He is consistently helpful to other players, and respectful of boundaries. The few times I venture into civil these days are to see him.

Please reconsider Jeff. I'm not generally one for this sort of petition, but in this case will make an exception. Feel free to contact me to get an even more ringing endorsement of Jarel.

How about double standards ferrec ? For example an irl friend of mine made a mistake and spelled "F*ck" in civil and he go perma banned from it in the same manner...would you think it would be fair to him for jarel to get unbanned while he still can't see civil ?

If Jarel and Sexyy get their permaban revoked, I demand mine be revoked as well. I will sign this under the condition that mine be revoked and all of the "civil" ****s in civil get the punishment they deserve.

lol i cant believe people are still trying to get banned when they hear all these other people get banned from civil (examples Sexyy, Viper, Sherman, etc) for getting around the filter and things like that. I dont do the same mistakes other people do that get them in trouble, especially when there is one after another getting permabanned from civil. I dont think Jeff will consider unbanning someone from civil no matter how nice they are. I do think that Jarel is a nice guy but he must realize he did get into this mess himself. When i get into a heated argument with someone i stop talking or not care about that person at all.. no matter how serious the issue is.. If one person is to get unbanned it would be unfair to others and they will start an uproar... i wonder when people will take it seriously that you DO get caught if you are trying to be funny or cool when swearing or anything that would get you banned....

Abel...I never bypassed the filter. I support you 100%, the whole point of my post was to prevent another unbanning.

I will assume Jeff banned him for a reason. There is no reason he should be unbanned if everyone else who has been banned will continue to be banned. He apparently broke the rules, so learn to deal with it .

Thanks for all the input, both sides of the argument make sense, they really do.

Honestly though, please PM if you believe in giving a good player a second chance. I won't forget this, if this works there may be hope for other permabans in the future.
