Bring Jarel Back to Civil Petition

I have gone through the posts and I see one flaw in the arguments both for and against, and I am sure Jeff will agree. It is we the users that run this game! Yes Glitchless sets the rules and administers the game, but it is we the users that ultimately FUND and give direction to the game through suggestions and posts much like this one. In the case of Jarel I agree a permaban is a bit harsh. And I do not see a problem with a 3 strike approach, 24 hour squelch, 1 week squelch, permaban. Those that are currently permabanned are all let back in with the understanding that they can consider themselves with strike one. WE HAVE THE POWER!

Well I for one am in favor with this three strike approach, if we start it from now and reinstate all those who are banned then from this day forward the rules apply and everyone will know the rules...that is those that bother to read them.

Hate to point out the obvious, but this is the type of mentality you can expect when a game's rules are enforced at the leisure of the one person enforcing them. You need look no further than Whiskey's avatar, or Hunter's sig, to realize this game has completely fallen out of line as far as what the rules WOULD prevent from happening.

Glitchless is naive to not have, at the very least, some kind of player moderation. At this rate, it's just a system of identifying an issue, and saying, "Is Jeff on?!?!?! Oh god plz save us Jeff!!!" Everyone acts like the people in the locker at the end of Men in Black, and it's stupid as hell.

Firstly, I agree completely with what people are saying about the three-strike system. I think the current it somewhat unfair, for reasons already stated.
I was in civil that day, and I don't think the punishment fits what Jarel did, again for reasons stated above. The only reason some 4 other people didn't get banned is that Jeff logged on when he did, and not 2 minutes earlier...
One slip shouldn't get you permabanned. And I agree that if Jarel gets unbanned, that others should be given a second chance. But, I think those who have said bans will be more careful if the bans are revoked. It isn't like they couldn't get banned again if they again broke the rules.

Sorry everyone, but I am bound to disagree with the unbanning. As Jarel himself has mentioned, he toes the line. And some of the arguments over "other players not getting banned but Jarel was unlucky that Jeff logged in" is ridiculous. It's like saying, so many others steal, but my friend happened to steal when the police is there, thus it's not fair that he's being punished.

Like duh. Don't toe the line.

Jeff himself wrote this cute little story about civil and uncivil chat. Read it.

Civil is for sugar-coated well-mannered talk and provides an avenue for new players asking for help. It's not for chatting about politics, joking about sex, calling names and arguing. With private message, clan chat, group chat and uncivil channel, u can hardly complain that there is no avenue for your kind of conversation.

No unbanning. No three-strike rule. It's not harsh because it's the ONLY channel that enforces very strict rules. If you can't be well-mannered and talk as if you're in the presence of the Queen of England, then civil chat is not for you. And if you're the sort of person who would trash talk even in the presence of the queen of england, then uncivil is the best place for you.
