When will the swearin in civil stop?

Good day,

I'd like to officially ask the Administration of when will there be moderators for civil public chat or there will be a squelch button or REPORT button that you could use?

Just couple of minutes ago, a player named Calamity (then it was Infamoustrav and Dvalin) started swearing and cussing everyone in the civil chat and was acting completely arrogant not hearing the pleas to stop.

This is not the way the game should be, especially in civil chat, especially for younger people. And its not much you can do about, just politly ask the person to stop. But they never listen and start to cuss even more.

Ignore button only works if you want to stop hearing that person, but what about everyone else ??

I am a grown person and would hate to see my kids or any youngsters to see such behaviour here, in such a great game.

So, please, if its possible:
Either:

1)Select and make chat moderators
2)Make a report button that could work taking last 3-4 chat replies from that person and the Administration could see
3)Make a public squelch button that could only Administration use to calm that person down (after player being reported).

On a personal note, Mods are pointless, as they are subject to bias and are after all, only human.

instead lets raise the age limit of the game to 16+ then there is no need to have 2 different chats... how does 2 chats stop youngsters from seeing swearing when they have access to both? what parent sits next to there kid for 1hr or more while they play a video game to control there content?

I wonder who are you telling to close the thread ?

What is it with you ? What is the point of printscreening and sending stuff in? THe person has to stay online 24/7 in order to see most of the stuff that is going on!

Instead of all that, why not make a proper system warning message? If a person swears too much it comes up on the screen and after 3 messages, auto-squelch!

And have you ever seen any game or forum or chat WITHOUT moderators ? Yes they are human, but human that care and are grown up and thoughtful, there plenty of people like that here.

1. I personally think this game is great - it has two chats...other games I play has only one and players just choose to filter "dirty" words that they think offend them. Look, if u can read their foul language, what are you doing with the filter disabled?

2. This game allows you to ignore ppl you think are offensive. Use it. You can at least do things on your own without a moderator right?

3. If u are afraid for the sanity of your children, don't install internet at home. Face it - a game is not going to be much worse than them surfing porn sites or reading other un-moderated stuff they can easily find by using google.com. In fact, don't let them go to school...their peers will be much worse.

4. If you STILL feel someone should moderate for you, at least take the pains to press print screen and paste into Microsoft Paint and then report (with screenshot) to abuse@nodiatis.com. If you can't be asked to do that, then that is a clear indication that the chat wasn't offensive enough for you to bother with the hassle.

Unfortunately life has shown you the wierd side of it. When you get your own kids please come back and read what you've typed here.

If you really thought through what you have typed in there then I will spare a minute answering your 4 points.

1) If you played some other games out there, you probably are familiar with many ways of avoiding the filters to use the curse words so everyone would see them ?

2) This comment made me persuaded that you are like the rest 95% of the people that prefer to click IGNORE something and not pay attention to anything that happens in life. The way of" doesnt bother me" situation. Well instead of trying to prevent this happening and other new to the game people seeing it or at least trying to talk the person that is cursing out of it you just click the ignore button more often. Well thats your life choice, nothing to do here. You obviously dont need a moderator help there either.

3) Once again, if you are spoiled that much please speak for yourself. When you get your own family and kids I will inform you of the programs such as NetNanny and other Parental Guidance programs. Also I will suggest you the good school to send your kids to, if you can afford the fees there of course. And hopefully your kids will stay away from much filth that you have already experienced obviously.

4) And the last but not the least, I have been a moderator to some forums and games, not that much but enough to know what to do with such people. And thanks for explaining me the process of screenshots it never changed even since year 1998. I am sure you understand that screenshotting every word that the person says or his buddies do, which was like 40-50 curse words yesterday will flood the mail of nodiatis a bit.

Unfortunately the regularity of the civil chat offenses are much often now, but hey you dont care you have the ignore button right ? Thanks for your time explaining me how everything works here.

People don't have to have kids to make sense, and to know right from wrong. I have 2 kids but that doesn't make me the torch holder for morality. Whay people here are saying is that there IS a system in place already: screenshot and send it in! Ignore until u get a response.
I am so sick of all the fuss over the civil channel and those who deem themselves its guardians. No Music, you aren't one of them, but some folks seem to just wait eagerly for someone to slip up so they can shout out 'Take it to uncivil!' lol.
And I have to say it again I guess.....the kids are mostly IN uncivil already!
I see civil chat as the place to avoid stupid internet arguments, not as Sesame Street. Adults can still converse there as long as no one is being harassed, as far as I am concerned.
Yeah the idiots who pop in and spam vulgarity aggrivate me, but ignore takes care of them and they get bored and leave.
Maybe one day the game can afford mods but until then use whats in place and leave it be.

Apparently there are people starting to dislike me for speaking out against those that enter civil chat, start swearing like mad and then refuse to go to uncivil. Believe me, i'm no angel but i prefer and enjoy playing in civil. If I can make that decision then I feel others can too, the options are there. The best example recently is a player called Calamity. After pm'ing Calamity ,she got even worse in civil. I have made some good friends here and of course some enemies, that's the way it works.I joined this game not to be popular, but to enjoy it, and I will continue speaking out against those that try to make the gaming experience in civil unpleasant.

Next time, take screenshots of what Calamity says, followed by your pm to her, and finally her response to it. Report her after that.

Being one of the first people to enter uncivil, and keep my rear firmly glued to it, something i have noticed, is surprisingly, people in uncivil, are more civil then the people in civil. funny how that happens.
the current system in place, is Screenshot, send to the abuse link, and wait for a decision, while ignoring the person in the mean time.
unfortunatly, if jeff does take mods from the current group of players, then it will be nothing but a preference spree, and full of abuse towards the system.
example - make Jon a mod. you will never see me in chat again, because he would perm squelch me. (no offense jon)

your best bet, is to follow the current system. it may not be the best system, but it is what you have to work with at the current time.
there is still a long list of things for jeff to do. you do need to realize that. and we, as the simple people, do not have any way of figuring out, how important mods are, on that to do list, and if it even is on the to do list. (check the to do list)

thats my two cents. and hopefully, you, and that others who are bothered by some of the people in civil chat, just might take it upon yourselves, to fix the situation by following the current system. if you dont, then it is on your own head, and you really dont have a right to complain.
