Just looking for clarification. I'm fairly sure its been said before that changing emails to avoid fighting other teams was against the rules but curious if that is indeed the case?

As of now, no that is not technically against the rules and is more like queue dodging which is also not against the rules. If there was a surefire way to prevent such a thing, then we would implement it, but it seems like an invitation for a mess.

more of a mess than half of top 10 being on 1 email and other half on 2nd email and anyone not on one of these 2 emails is screwed? :{ queue dodging is one thing. you can't gain rating while you dodge. email dodging though. you can still gain rating. arena is a competition some people do pour a lot of money into. fairness is important. not just being friends with op people so you can hide on their email. arena dodging, while dishonest, can be played off as "it's not my fault they only queue when i'm at work or asleep". but email dodging is blatant arena fixing. and I wouldn't even care if it resulted in perm bans to anyone who does it.

IMO thats a poor stance. Especially come 1v1. People who are friends with one another just share emails and never fight each other while being to stay in que and gain rating. for an example.

Say me and tsu set same email. im active and in top 5. Hes inactive and is 85th but able to beat most people. Come rush he becomes active. I get to stay in que with 0 risk to my rating while he steals from most of the other people competing for top spot. Seems very easy to exploit imo.

If i was 1 of the people fighting for top spot i would 100% be pissed off about something like that going on (which. from ppl pming me is happening this season between norman/thorin, idk if thats true or not)

If there is a consensus that we would be better off by removing the "same e-mail, no match" condition from arena matchmaking and relying on IP address instead, that's something we will consider. We would need to change rule #4 from:
4. If you have multiple characters in arena, they MUST all be assigned to the same e-mail to assure they do not face each other. Otherwise it will look like you are breaking rule #1 regardless of your intent.
to
4. If you own multiple characters on different arena teams queueing at the same time, you are responsible for ensuring they are being played on the same device and IP. If two characters owned by the same person face each other in arena, both teams will be disqualified for the season.

I don't share, so this doesn't hurt me in any other arena format but when I team up. I can't believe people would go to the extent they do to win (I do now)

Win or lose, I'd like to face others when in a team format

I don't arena at all, but if you're not the owner of the toons then they should have to face off in arena. Support an IP based matching system

If you think someone is doing it, report it. It'll be pretty easy to tell if they are, and they'll get a full ban.
