Default Item drop step up ...

I think it's time to revisit item drop mechanics.

Before LG's epics were a top gear and people moved to high zones when "epic due* to hunt for aimed piece .

Normal drops were providing basic gold income or were used to list on ah to provide social experience.

That was long time ago and things changed .
15 k store resell value seem not to be rewarding since chests itself can contain hundreds of thousands.

Max coinage was a game changer that devaluated basic items.

Here is the idea:

Substitute normal drops with epics and epic drops (if permited by zone ) with LG consumable.

It seems like bold move but there is no reason opposing this idea.

At low level people would get familiar with virtue system and get some sooner to start listing their loot.

Epics itself (thanks to dust collection) are easy and cheap to craft anyway , therefore there is no reason why they would not drop regularly .

Normal items are available in stores and it's not thrilling to get one as drop. I would leave them as boss drop which is more than enough.

If LG tp seem too op as a drop it could be regulated how often it happens yet it's more about gathering materials to create actual item + resins.

It's definitely worth to look at current item drop system as game progressed and old drop system is not as satisfying as it used to be before.

Any thoughts welcome...

No support
There is already too much gold in the game, and increasing epic drops would only lower dust value. People already sell epics for social.

T30 dusts are getting harder and harder to find on ah as prices rise, could maybe be an adjustment but I doubt it

On s2 for example there is lack of low lvl epics.
People who reroll or starting with full upgraded account "blazing" (sorry blaze) through levels and not even have a chance to get epic.

My only epic before cap was 45 pet.

If new player joins how much of a thrill is it for him/her to finally drop item that is available at store ?

How they learn about benefits of virtues?

Explain how epic 9 sleeve instead level 8 would break economy ?

As for cap drops everything could be regulated with time intervals if needed .

So, you want to completely flood the market with low level epics, because no one is crafting them?

Flood ?

It can ONLY by found by lowbies and the only way it make out of toon if they buy virtues for it.

Win-win for everyone

The rate of epic drops among my toons between s1 and s2 is comparable. As a new player getting any drop (free gold and free gear) is a little sweet and satisfying. Yes, as one levels it becomes mundane and eventually a toon with high social skills might even just destroy a regular drop, it is still of value to low levels and is part of w/e algorithm. As Toe referenced, replacing level 8 sleeves with level 9 epic sleeves will shift things in the game's economy and ripple out across many things.

Having epics more available devalues them even further. If they are so cheap to craft then why need them so commonly dropped? It would encourage even less resourcing and crafting. Also, would rather make store bought items pointless to even be in the game (talk about shifting economy and more... the whole free to play idea and learning curves for new players). Toons can use non-epic and non-lg items. Until cap becoming that op has no point except ease... at cap being op is competition. Epic then lg gear is necessary to improve due to gear in the shops no longer meeting demands of cap builds. But before then... equates spoiling imo.

Two or three epics floating in inventory/storage and exploring the dust collecting minigame (plus the chatter and discussion within game) is enough to create curiosity and awareness of the virtues upgrades.

I see that your S2 reference is a general example but S2 is a younger server. Yes, things have been shifted to help it not be so nub, but for all the effort to change things to be at the progress of S1 - it's just not that ready made. What was s1 like at the age that s2 is now? S1 is six years older ish, correct?

As much as I want to say "H**l Yeah More Epics!" because I have tokens to spend on s2 before they disappear and would prefer to put then on a brand new 39 suit (which would only be a selfish reason)... -----> I do not support this idea for Nod.

I make more than most caps in the game. I still enjoy my uncommon drops. Sure 20k isn't much to me, but it's still 20k more than i had before. Do we really need to make epics basically valueless? Idk about s2 but the 88 epics on s1 are already such trash they're sold to store often. The lower epics get used more.

Epics are better than normal gear by a bit. (+10ish). Why take all the challenge out of getting to cap? We all know how op leveling with epics is. With what you suggest how hard would it be to get full epic :{

Joanna, you've had 2 good suggestions, but they haven't had the aim of really improving S2, just whining to make S2 easier.

S2 is 'harder' because of your smaller player base. The issue is, you are where S1 was a few years ago...but with full updates and a much smaller active player base, that's going to cause a lot of headaches. You have super cheap TCs and comparatively really expensive LGs, but again, that's what it would have been like in S1 9 years ago if LGs were placed in there at the time.

You can't keep comparing S2 to S1 and say S2 is worse off. If you can build the S2 player base by inviting people in, then it'll get better.

I get it, you guys put all of your eggs in one basket, twice, and lost all of your TPs/Masters. You had a good suggestion, but that doesn't mean every suggestion of yours is viable.

Take the constructive criticism and move on.

TL/DR, get more people to play on S2.

So S2 has nothing worth spending gold on, but also wants free LG TPs. And I get an earful of abuse when I dare suggest that I seem to see thread after thread from S2 players asking for more and more.
