Default Game Controller Default Binding Discussion Thread

Let's use this pic for reference

- I'd prefer thumbstick2 for mouse movement
- Button A for mouse click
- Button Y to open your Inventory and equip setup (could use start button for that though)
- X button to attack
- The D-pads to select through your stuff in inventory/storage without using mouse

Let's hear some feedback, especially for the R and L buttons.

IIRC u can already do that by binding each key on the keyboard to the desired button on the controller. I tried to YouTube it once but seems complicated.

the problem here is that the playstation layout is very different from the xbox layout and the playstation has L3 and R3 next to eachother where in some cases the total R3 stick and R3 are not supported due issues with steam/games. Due the interface between windows and xbox ( both microsoft) the controller for the xbox does not suffer from this problem.

Another idea , use combination of buttons to use L1+L2 ( or for XboX L1 and LT) and R1+R2 ( or for XboX R1 and RT) to cast gems , change suits, change runesetups, change pouches etc. Also this would be nice as hotkeys for the "normal" keyboard or gaming pad as well.

In any case my thoughts and ideas about it and some of the problems i encountered while using steamprograms.

As far as I know we now only have one commando to do such a thing when you want to erase a gem from a gemslot with ctrl+(number) . Would be nice could be expanded as explained above.

I would leave it to users again.... there is hundreds of joysticks/pads out there and at the same time software that let you customize what buttons does

Like old programs ie. "Joytokeys" allows you to use virtually any joystick that is detectable by your machine.

Some people are not into psx Xbox junk yet they use high end pads to speed up actions in game. They can assign letter or even X,Y right/left click position to open tools etc.

For example if you dye a lot you can do this (fully legal and not considered botting/automation):

Button A : right click on dye press
Button B : left click on use tool
Button C : left click on submit

Obviously it takes minute to preprogram it but it's easier afterwards than playing with mouse.

There is plenty 3rd party programs out there that can make your device functional not just for nodiatis but any game.

I don't think there is any need for in game key assignment.
