Default make crafting more valuable

the problem is mixing to value one items together makes another value one item so i suggest increasing value of items made the higher up the chain you go
example
base item=value 1
refined item=value 2-3
mixed refined items (ie oil)= value 5-7
final product= value of total combined items*1.25
of course this may be lower or higher depending on what your making
it should be that as items get more refined you should get more money by selling to store
please post ur opinions

ALSO: when a store gets an item it puts said item for sale also if it is not sold a specific craft item it doesn't sell said item (no spiders silk for sale unless another player sold it first)

also a note the value should be high enough to encourage selling to store BUT low enough to discourage buying materials from store and selling finished product for profit ya still gotta gather

I agree that something needs to be done with crafting, hunting and refining. As it is right now, most people don't craft on a regular basis, and even fewer really hunt.

i am going to add something: as the items being hunted for get higher level there needs to be more payout getting 1 gold for all items hunted, crafted is gimping the peoples who want to craft
example: tier 1:1-2g base
tier 2: 4-6g base
tier 3: 7-8g base
tier 4: 10-11g base
and so on
of course these are just examples

I'm curious -- is the 1-item = 1-gold rule an attempt to keep people from using dye/oil making as a major income source? While it would take a heck of a lot of work to get rich making oils, I could see people buying every plant they find and slogging away.

I guess the question is -- does that really matter? Are the 'higher' level plants and dyes available in stores in later towns, or are craftsmen going to have to forage anyway? Personally, if I'm having to level up my craftsmen skills in order to find raspberries, or create more complex goods, I think there should be some kind of reward.

Heck, the equipment is darn expensive for EVERY craft -- there should be a middle ground between the 1-gold for materials and having to finish a complete recipe.

The point of crafting is not to sell resources or end results to stores, it's to sell other players.

Exactly. So it shouldn't be so difficult to work with other players to create ingredients.

exactly which is why this thread should be moved to trades and auctions forum where u can set your prices there for people to buy your goods, hopefully a mod will be good enough to do so.

We plan on having certain items be craft only and their recipes will drop. Currently this is not the case.

I think that the resource gathering should be able to have a chance to get more in a single go, and crafting should be able to mass produce items as well.

Is the idea really to force people to trade outside of the game, though? If I set my prices in forum and then people have to hunt me down inside the game, it isn't solving the problem.

Here is the biggest thing that would make crafting more useful..

Lower the freeking resins needed to make items. Racking up the prices to make a grass sword, which sells for 990

I need 16 Ice resin, which costs 33 each. That is nearly 550g right there!

Next add in the Waste resin and you are looking at around 600-650g needed just for those. This doesn't include prices on objects such as Ingots, leather and the like. It already costs about 50g just to make the usable recipe Which ends up requiring cloth making, dye pressing, trapping, foraging.
