Default Selling epics.

I have an epic i'd like to sell but i don't want to pay for the virtues. Is it alright if a buyer paypal's me $10 which i then spend to get the required virtues to "unlock" the epic and then sell the epic for about 20% of store price; in this case about 5k from orig 30k?

If there are paypal scamming issues, would it be ok if we use a middle man? Somebody who both parties agree can be trusted?

I dont think anyone will buy you virtues for 10 USD and then pay you gold for the item. Also have in mind that once he gets the item he will have to buy virtues for himself too so it will be total of 20 USD + the gold he pays u for the item.

Right not only wouldn't it be il-logical or un-economical, but it's also against the rules. Even though you're not making a profit. It still opens up a certain party to be scammed. So, this type of practice is ill advised.

I imagine that Jeff's stance on game items/gold/services being sold for real currency is the same as his stance on the character trading issue in RWK. That is, it's against the rules but not actively enforced. The only way people get banned for character trades in RWK are those that scam/get scammed, and even then it's only if a report is filed. Jeff does not want to be the Glitchless Games Securities and Exchange Commission. He doesn't want to police our trades. He wants us to be responsible and use our brains when making deals. If you put yourself at risk for being scammed he is not going to fix it. These rules against such transactions ARE for our protection, but also to protect him from having to police his corner of the internet.

I agree Ehlmaris. I highly doubt Jeff will police every transaction that you do, but on the other hand...it would have to be a pretty fine epic for someone to be willing to pay 10 USD + 5k gold, essentially 2 Time cards and 5k gold, not to mention taking the risk that you will screw them.

Not to mention they would have to pay additional $10 to equip it if they haven't already purchased the required virtues.

Ps. This is in the wrong forum. This should be moved to "The Auction House".
