ever read the confession of nat turner? now that is some frightening stuff.
Confessions of Nat Turner
a little off-topic, but not really. it's interesting that the oppressive gentility-class did everything they could to impose their religion on the slaves to convince them that slavery was right...and then something like that happens. apparently even the uneducated slave could see through the hypocrisy of the southern religion.

Not my meaning.
I was going for something else.
You expect something from someone, when you don't provide effort, you shouldn't expect anything.
That lesson seems to apply to ***yy more than anyone.

LOL. sorry for failing you. yes, i got your meaning, it just got me off on a tangent. i did a lot of studying on african-american religion in the past year, so it got me thinking about a lot of things.
anyway, yeah...the idea of asking an all-loving God to strike down the oppressors is...a little contradictory, to say the least. well, if you're only looking at the new testament, that is (which, unfortunately, way too many modern Christians do). the idea of turning to God to overturn the oppressor is right there in exodus. not surprisingly, slaves were very aware of that book despite their masters' attempts to keep it quiet.

In the end of it all, at least both sides can say "hey i wasted a few seconds of that person's life" then piss on their grave.

funny, shortly after you posted that screenshot i received defame for just about everything i posted here... although i am flattered that you think i'd be willing to stoop to such levels, i am perfectly content to sit back and allow you to ruin your reputation without my help.
and to those who DID flame hate like that...disappointing. really? if you have something to say, stand up and say it where people can see your name. not only did you prove yourselves absolute hypocrites by swearing, insulting, etc. but you proved yourselves absolute cowards by doing it anonymously.

No one even remotely insinuated YOU did that. Guilty conscience?
It was totally expected to happen and I have some Xtian love on this acct as well.
All it does it prove the point. A silly mythological religion does not magically
make one a good or nice person. So who needs it?
Do people really need to pay a preacher and be threatened with eternal
damnatiion and suffering screaming in eternal torment just to get them to be
kind to one another? Would a just God really throw someone in Hell forever
and ever and ever for a couple years of sin? Why does Cain burn 6000 years
longer in Hell for murder then a guy executed for it last night?
People need to wake up and smell the coffee and think for themselves.
Just because "everybody says so" doesn't make anything true.

just because people claim to follow a set of beliefs does not mean they follow those beliefs. this is not the fault of the beliefs but the fault of the person. i don't know who decided to mass-defame you or boogz, but if they believe they were justified by their faith in doing so, they are mistaken, not the faith they claim to hold.
